Hello,
I sent a watch to the UK for repairs by a watchmaker, and I also marked for "repairs" on the customs label. Before the item was delivered I got a notification from Royal Mail to pay the customs online before it could be delivered. I paid this amount but was a bit baffled as I have sent other watches to the same repair person without having to pay customs before. Here in Canada I have occasionally had to pay customs on repairs due to incorrect paper work, but was able to recover costs by filling out a claim form.
So my question is are customs charges for repairs valid in the UK or would I be able to make a claim to recover the customs charges?
Thanks!
