Buyer opened case claiming "item not received" after confirmed delivery via Royal mail

Post by frank98 »

Hi guys,

Really just requesting some advice here, I sold some shoes online worth around £750, I posted them with Royal Mail Special delivery 1pm and insured them for the same amount, it cost me around £28 to post them as they weighed over 2kg and was insured, anyway the buyer the next day opens a dispute on PayPal saying item not received even though he knows full well the tracking number was added to the transaction confirming delivery with a signature and his surname.... Anyway the next day I checked the tracking on royal mail site again and it stated "updated on 23 april, sender preparing item" after the delivery was confirmed??? I'm not sure what that means how is the sender preparing the item after delivery has been made, at first i thought it was being returned to me but its been over a week now and i've got nothing in the mail. The dispute is still open and theres a hold on my account of £-750 which isn't great, I'm just wondering what I should do and if anyone has had this issue before.. Thanks a lot :)

You must contact Royal Mail themselves and if necessary make a claim.

They have an audit tracking system so will be able to tell what's happening better than we, an unofficial site, can.

Good luck
