Implications on mail after the UK's exit from the EU

Parcel from US, Transit times....?

Just a quick question, I have a parcel coming from the US, indicated it left the US on the 3rd of April with the following message.....

Tracking no. LZ260847108US
This item is now leaving the originating country. More information will be available when it arrives in the UK.

Does this mean the item is still in the US or has it actually arrived in the UK? I understand there will be delays with the Corona crisis, but are there any indications how long this delay will be??

It could be in UK customs, or US Customs - neither normally scan postal items. Cant say how long it will take to get through customs but I would say as soon as it starts tracking after leaving customs at most it should take about a week at the moment.

Unfortunately with RM running at 33% absenteeism and up to 6 posties dying from Covid19, there are delays throughout the system and though we are trying our best the system isn't coping at the moment.
