Hi , i can only imagine this query may arouse a collective sigh of boredom from all. However, i shall persevere.
Long story short, i wonder if anyone can tell me how often National Returns Centre do their 'searches'.
I sent a Special Delivery at the start of the month that was not delivered or collected. Idiot that i am, there was no return address.
I contacted my local sorting office in Portree who were very helpful and gave me printouts showing my parcel was in a container at NRC Belfast.
I contacted CS and got my address and the item number and description of the contents logged and a search for it was requested from NRC. That was yesterday 25/07 ,
The main website gives the general impression of 'abandon all hope'. But ever the optimist i believe it will be returned.
It is of great sentimental value and how long i have to send it is time sensitive. So, i wonder if anyone can give me an idea of my chances and the how and possibly when
i may see it again. Many thanks in advance. RevRon

I think if you've given the details of where and when it was posted and the contents it's almost certain you'll get it back however the when is a little more difficult, since you've set the wheels in motion and bearing in mind it's a special delivery it shouldn't take more than a few days to a week, that's shouldn't though not won't unfortunately.

I would submit a P58inland form to be on the safe side.
I would be optimistic about the chances of getting it back eventually, but some patience may be required in the waiting.

Thanks Snaggletooth. I sent one in then got it sent back as it was the old style, which looks remarkable like the new style. Since then CS have told me that my claim is logged on the system and a request for NRC search made. Not to contact them again till 30 days have passed.
