Malicious letter and 8 digit code
I've been sent a letter, nothing criminal but someone clearly stirring trouble. It's got the postmark of the city where it was posted, would the 8 digit code underneath give more of a clue as to specific area it came from?

Probably not, but it is impossible to tell without more information. In particular, is the letter stamped, franked, carry a postage paid impression or a Post Office label? All have codes meaning different things.

Thanks for your reply. It was sent with a first class stamp so it's the standard post office stamp with City / Town name, date then an 8 digit code. I wondered if that code could lead anywhere?
