Parcel stuck in London AMU

Post by james3819 »

Bought a watch strap from the UK and had it shipped to Singapore. However, it has been stuck at London AMU since the 27th. Searched around for what is London AMU but still not really sure of why my parcel has been stuck there for so long. Anyone has any idea? Thanks!

As dealt with in other threads on this site, London AMU deals with outgoing mail. See other threads on here for more info.

What is the watch strap made of? Singapore restrict leather and similar, this is a possible reason for your item stopping at the AMU.

The watch strap is made of leather but I previously purchased a pair of leather shoes online which were delivered. I will try to read up more on this forum. Thanks!

In theory, you should look up the the customs rules each time you send something or, in your case, before buying something. They do change. When checking the customs rules for Singapore yesterday I noticed that they have banned Lithium batteries: this was a big surprise as until recently they were doing a roaring trade in despatching mobile phones to the UK on behalf of Alibaba sellers. So I suspect that Singapore has had a recent overhaul of their rules.

Leather is one of those things that a lot of countries ban from the mail.

Has anyone’s parcel been delivered yet?

I have sent my goods off on the 28th and I know it’s only been a few days, but I do not know what is happening with my parcel.
