Post Office Won't Accept Click & Drop

Post by moomingirl »

Hi

This is a post to see if this is happening to anyone else. My local Post Office have been told not to accept Click & Drop without a confirmed sales order (a confirmed sales order, not a manifest). This has led to much confusion over the last week, as the advice from Royal Mail is use a manifest for Click & Drop. My Post Office have said that they have been told to reject and refuse any bags that now come in without a Confirmed Sales Order. When I discussed this with Royal Mail (both by phone and email) they are completely unaware of the change, and that the Post Office are asking for different paperwork.

I know that the Post Office and Royal Mail are different companies BUT one company seems to be asking for one piece of paperwork and the other for another one.

Anyone else experiencing this

Just to check we are talking about the same things:

Manifest = list of the parcels with addresses (and possibly barcode numbers).
Sales order = list of what you have paid for.

Yes, that is correct. It turns out that they now both want both, as the paperwork produced via click & drop will not scan, but for some curious reason the paperwork from OBA the sales order will. I am still having to use both despite the Post Office being told directly that only the manifest is required, for now I am doing both, until I am told otherwise, it is the only way my post office will accept my orders.

It has been a few years since I worked for the PO, and the rules could have changed, but I suspect that that this branch is mixing up the instructions for Postage Paid Impressions (PPI) with the rules for Click & Drop.

They are. It is exactly that, I have already had that conversation with them that C&D and PPI are not the same and require different paperwork but still they persist, at least for now I can drop my post off...
