hello and good day.
I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have purchased an item on eBay.us for a value of £17.55+£8.73p&p. I was expecting a small customs charge to be paid. well I have received a card delivered by Royal Mail saying the item cannot be delivered as there is a fee to pay. now hold your hats: £1156.00...
surely someone missed a couple of decimal points somewhere.
I am basically trying to find out if it is possible to get hold of someone in customs to discuss this case as clearly, this is nonsens. tracking says item is being held in Langley. is there a phone number or perhaps an email I could write to? 2weeks before the item will be returned to sender are counting. the item is a logic board for an old laptop computer, that by far is not worth so much.
Barcode says LW187452755DE. I can provide snapshots from my inet banking to prove the amount that I paid for the item if needed.
thank you for any help

customs charge waaaaaaay over.
This item was sent from Germany, therefore there shouldn't be any customs charge at all.

Also, it is being held at Brentwood Royal Mail Delivery Office, not Langley.

customs charge waaaaaaay over.
right, case entangled
what actually happened:
item got posted from USA using Deutche Post. this might explain why did item arrive from Germany.
item is being held in Brentwood, because it got sent there from Langley.
Customs overcharge is a fault in the system of our Local post office, when printing labels.
I personally thing, someone have missed two decimal points... lol
thank you for the insight, I didn't know it was being held in Brentwood
have a good one.
