GBLALA for over two weeks

Post by maildope »

So a sports retailer in Canada sent me a small package which tracking shows arrived at Heathrow on 17 April and was passed to GBLALA. I had no idea it was there so only starting chasing about a week after it arrived there. RM staff swore to me they did not have it and gave me several telephone numbers for Customs and told me to chase them-which I did. Remember, the tracking showed that it was at GBLALA. I made my daily call to RM to chase it up and suddenly, after two weeks, the person admitted that the tracking location of GBLALA meant that it was indeed in the possession of RM and has been for two weeks. They could not explain why no onward scan has happened. This person said she would now consider it as lost. I asked to speak to a manager an duly got a call back from one. He was very nice and said the item is not lost, they simply don't know where it is (!?). He said that even after two weeks I should still expect it to be delivered.

Can this be right? Is there even the slightest chance I will get this package? It's been 2 weeks and 2 days since it was scanned into GBLALA

Best guess is that it's stuck in Customs. What's the contents?

So I just thought I’d check in with RM again as it’s midweek. The story has changed back to “we have never had the item in our possession”. I’ve once again requested a manager’s callback.

There is still a chance that it is stuck in customs, it's unusual but not unheard of to sometimes take 4 weeks to get through. Hopefully thats the case here and eventually you may get it. I'd try and track down a Customs number and give them an earful as well.

Spoke to the manager and he again stated that the item passed through Customs on or around the 17 of April and has been in the possession of RM ever since. However, he setill does not know where it is.

So I’ve been checking every day, as has the sender. This package arrived from Canada and was received by Royal Mail on 17 April at GBLALA. The status showing on the tracking website has never changed. Until today!!! The status updates at 7:45am this morning, 30 May to: ARRIVED (MDN) AT HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC

What does this mean?
