Our house has a driveway which is around 50ft long. At the gate before you enter the property, there's a postbox. Our regular postie will walk to our door if there's something too big for the postbox.
But the chap who does deliveries on a Saturday does not. He simply leaves a card saying the item was too big, and we then have to collect from the sorting office. But should he make the effort to come to our door and hand it to us? Or, by having a postbox at our gate, have we inadvertently moved our point-of-delivery from our front door to the gate?
We've missed several parcels this way and it's becoming annoying, but I'm reluctant to remove the postbox as it'll mean our regular postman will have to walk down our drive every day.
