Has anyone else who's sent tracked items to Canada been experiencing delays? How long did it take your items to arrive?
I sent a large letter via International Tracked & Signed and it's stuck tracking at 'ON ITS WAY TO TORONTO CANADA' since January 30. RN400372246GB. I'm a bit worried since it contained an application form and various official government bits I had to acquire for it. In hindsight, I should probably always send important stuff via courier and just pay the cost but now that it's all done...
Royal Mail's service is tracked from end to end but Canada Post seems to be covering itself with a blanket statement not offering tracking to incoming mail when some people have reported that their international tracking sometimes does work when the item scans in Canada mail hubs. Did you manage to track your items?

Where is the return address displayed on the item? afaik Canadian Customs are one of the strictest in the world iirc they insist on the return address being on the front of the item, in the top left corner

It was at the back marked as ‘return address’. The envelope I used had a window on the top left corner so I wasn’t able to use the area (not enough space for my handwriting), and the postal clerk put the label across the window as well.

I have the same problem, I posted a large letter containing original documents on the 16th of March and up until now it has not arrived in Canada. Has your letter gone through yet?

I sent a small parcel on 04/05/18 via royal mail Track & Sign and it still hasn't been delivered. I contacted royal mail customer service and they it is in Canadian customs and they won't even look into the matter June!.
Has anyone else had similar issues and did they get it resolved?
