Help please, parcel status stucks on ON ITS WAY TOHEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC

Hi guys,

I sent a parcel to USA on Jan 30. However the status hasn't been updated since then, the last status is as below:

30/01/17 18:16 ON ITS WAY TOHEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC HOME COUNTIES NORTH MC

is the parcel still in UK? I am not sure what is going on. I sent it by international tracked and signed service.

any suggestions please? or maybe the status is normal?

It might have been diverted to be examined for dangerous goods. What was inside?

it is just a normal jacket.

Shouldn't be a problem as long as it had a correctly completed customs form on it. It might have just been selected for a random check.

thanks for the info, yes, there is a custom form attached on the parcel. I never know that parcel can be selected for a check when sending out of EU.

It can be selected for checks countries both within and outside the EU, and in both incoming to the UK and outgoing to everywhere. The Customs and Borders checks aren't just for Tax purposes, they also checks the legality, security and safety of them as well.

I am not fully up with the different ways they process items, but they can open parcels if they have enough reason to do so. However its done in a secure area covered by CCTVs (for evidence gathering) and before that stage they probably use x-ray machines, drug sniffers and all sorts of other gadgets.
