How long for delivery once parcel has cleared customs at Heathrow

Good morning everyone. What a great idea this board is, and very decent of you to let customers post their annoying questions...

I ordered something coming from China ( a gopro type camera), it was shipped via Yunpost from Shenzhen. Yes, you've guessed it, it's a Christmas present :)

The tracking information supplied by Yunpost says "Custom clearance completed,arrived at process center----LONDON - UNITED KINGDOM 7 2016/12/19 16:09:04." It also tells me it "arrived at Sort Facility HEATHROW AIRPORT----LONDON - UNITED KINGDOM 2016/12/17 19:45:28". Frankly I'm amazed that I can track a parcel across the world, it boggles my mind

I have no idea what else the parcel has to 'do' or what the 'process centre' might involve so am a bit clueless in terms of whether my package will be delivered to me before christmas (I live about 10 miles from heathrow, prob not relevant)? It's not absolutely essential, but would be a nice to have and my son would be thrilled :)

Grateful for any insider knowledge about where my parcel will be going now.

Several things about this indicate that your item is not coming through Royal Mail at all.

Do you mean, it's likely coming through another UK carrier or that it's not coming at all (e.g., something does not add up here or the sellers are not being truthful?)

What is it about the information I pasted that suggests this?

China Post does not allow Lithium batteries in the mail at all, and a GoPro type camera will almost certainly have such batteries. And that tracking info has slightly unusual wording. Nothing wrong in theory with tracking working right round the world though.

It is hopefully coming through a private carrier at this end. Some Chinese sellers use distribution centres in other countries to get round the battery law, so I am a bit sceptical about a carrier getting this item out of Shenzhen in the post.

It depends if it went through customs without incurring any fees it shouldn't take long (in theory but it is Christmas and Covid) if it does incur fees you can add possibly a week extra on, but it is unusual for Chinese parcels to get fees because they normally lie about the value of the goods. If the value was under £15 you shouldn't get any fees anyway.

I was just wondering if anyone could help me out, I ordered a parcel from Sheffield On the 6th of December (Christmas present) To be delivered in Ireland. The deadline for the delivery was today but the parcel says it’s still in Langley HWDC the tracking code is RV858734038GB
I just really want to know if it will arrive for Christmas as it’s a present for my little brother

My package was supposed to be delivered between 30th November and 5th December, but it has been delayed so much. Did your order work out in the end, or do you remember when you received it? Im waiting on 2 parcels to arrive but since arriving in Heathrow on the 1st and 4th of December they've not moved even though tracking says they've cleared customs. Usually once parcels have landed I receive my parcels within 3/4 days. Is there an issue with my parcels I don't know about?

These parcels haven’t entered the mail system yet. The clue is that the numbers end GB, meaning that they will be posted in the UK.

Some Chinese firms send over goods in some kind of bulk container, which they split into individual parcels after they arrive in the UK. Customs clearance will happen at the bulk stage. If there is an issue, you need to go back to the seller.

The last tracking update on the USPS website was:

In other words, USPS handed it over to UK customs on the 8th. Not much to worry about there, it has only been in customs for 4 working days at this point, which isn’t a huge length of time for the Christmas rush.

The last entry on your tracking is the one USPS do just before they hand it over to customs, so it hasn't left Heathrow yet but has left the USPS facility at Heathrow. Once Customs release it to Royal Mail it will start tracking again. Unfortunately there are delays in Customs.
