Returning parcel
Whoever you sent it to will get a grey card informing them insufficient postage has been paid and how much it will cost (plus an admin fee). Because full postage wasn't paid it takes a while for it to go through the system, and the card to be printed.
Because we are now in Christmas rush it could be a week or 2 from now before they see the card. If they don't collect the item after paying the extra then it will be sent to the returns letter centre for disposal after 18 days (calendar days)
Keep in contact with the receiver and if you promise to pay the extra it will sort it all out.
In the unlikely event that the address is damaged then it will be sent straight to the returns letter centre who will open it and try to find some identifying details, they will then forward it on as a normal parcel needing payment.
For now wait a week, if nothing after a week ring Royal Mail direct (we are not Royal Mail) and describe the parcel and the problem and they will enter iit on the database in case it is eventually sent tp the return letter centre.
