Advice re tracked mail going to wrong country

Post by Redherring »

Hello Folks, just wondered if someone could give me some advice please. Yesterday I posted a valuable parcel to Germany via tracked mail. Upon checking the status of the parcel it is currently enroute to the United Arab Emirates. Main question is what is the chances of getting this parcel back to either the intended recipient in Germany or to the sender (me) in the UK??
Also how could this happen and what can I do if anything?

Many thanks in advance for any help...

We get this question about once a month on here, mostly they seem to turn up at the intended recipient but expect a week or two of delay. There may also be gaps in the tracking due to major differences between the way Germany and the UAE handle mail.

As to how it happens ... most likely a simple human error, but there are probably 1001 unlikely but plausible ways it could happen by accident.
