I'm a D.O. worker, so don't know how the mail centre fishes out parcels for examination - any reason why its been trapped there?

outward parcel held at Glasgow Mail Centre
hi guys, just a quick question, I posted a parcel to a friend in Ireland, and its being held at Glasgow Mail Centre - "suspected dangerous goods" - there is absolutely nothing dangerous in this parcel, it contains bits n pieces for crafts - balsa wood, felt, buttons, ribbons, craft foil, some mesh, paper bags -- no liquids, batteries or anything like that.

They don't examine it, that does done by CAA. It'll get sent now (by surface) to the National Returns Centre in Belfast where it'll get examined. best guess is that the foil might have made it look iffy on an xray

I posted it Thursday - tracking is now showing as being at the National Returns Centre -
sooooooooo - next question - will they open it, inspect the NOT dangerous contents and send it on to my friend? will it be returned to me? or will it just be destroyed?

It's more likely a fault with track & trace: they do happen.
