Hi everyone,
My name is Virginia, I am a Royal Mail costumer and I am new to this forum. I can't find anywhere to turn to so this is why I am here. I sent a birthday card and present to my Mum for her birthday (which was 04/03). The enveloppe was sent on Feb 26th via International Tracking mail. Today is March 8th and my Mum still has not received anything. I tracked my mail on Royal Mail website and saw it is in Charles de Gaulles Airport since Feb 28th!!!! I can't find anywhere to ask why it is still there and why it is not moving on. It was just a bubbled enveloppe, nothing heavy or breakable. Not sure what to do next. I feel that I really should not have to turn to a forum for customer service but there I am. Thanks for anyone advise on this.

Do you have the tracking number if so post it on this thread and we can try annd decipher whats happened. I have various shortcuts to other public international tracking sites that may help.

Hi There,
Thank you for your reply. The tracking number is RN230785016GB and the royal mail website says 27/02/16 17:21 ARRIVED IN COUNTRYROISSY CTCI IMP RAP ROISSY CTCI IMP RAP (Roissy sorry not Charles de Gaulles). Even on Tweeter Royal Mail they have no control once the mail has crossed over. Some tracking system!!!

The french are a little funny like that - the good news is that the number is recognised on their own website so at least the La Poste have it, although I am surprised it's not moving that quickly. http://www.csuivi.courrier.laposte.fr/s ... 30785016GB" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks very much for your help. The delay in processing this mail is indeed what is I find strange. Well, I supposed I need to be patient. Just a shame I missed my Mum's birthday.

Just another question though: how long is long enough before I should enquire? And since the enveloppe has reached France, who shall I enquire to? Thank you.

If by enquire you mean put a claim form in, then five weeks after posting.

Always the sending end, so in this case Royal Mail.

Thanks for your answers. I am actually really annoyed that I paid for a service that is not up to scratch and I am still having to do the leg work. Not Royal Mail's fault, but you get this impression one can no longer entrust their mail to anyone.
