There's not a lot wrong with that. You would have hoped that it would have been scanned last night and put on a plane this morning, but 1 extra day isn't that unusual.

What I think it is very unusual that an International mail Tracked & Signed has not been scanned for 2 days!?
According to tracking it is floating between Birmingham Mail centre and Heathrow WW DC for 48 hours.
Must have been lost/stolen on its way to Heathrow.
Thats it. Never seen something like this before.

ON ITS WAY TOHEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC SINCE TUESDAY?

Post by Snaggletooth »

Here is an example from yesterday of an item which just dropped off the track & trace for a while:

http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... =6&t=73516" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Between that and your item, I was starting to wonder if RM are having one of their periodic tracking system problems. And sure enough, when I put your tracking number into a different tracking site (http://www.track-trace.com/post" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) I get this:
Your item, posted on 23/02/16 with reference RS388231897GB has been received at our international mail centre and is being made ready for despatch overseas.
This item was sent by Royal Mail.
That's at least one tracking point further than the RM tracking site says it has got. So basically, Royal Mail's website is playing up.

Nope sorry, RM's website says the same.

"Status: It's on its way

"

And no further progress since Tuesday.
Should I call Heathrow WW DC to ask them if they could confirm that my mail has ever reached them at all?
Are they prepared to answer for this kind of questions anyway?

No - they have no customer facing roles so there is no way to contact them.

Tracking number is not recognised in the destination country. So it is definitely still in the UK somewhere.

EIRE is the destination country and the content of the item being sent is a silicone iPhone 6 case... no batteries or anything.

Ah! it may delayed because they are checking its safe to fly.

Is there anything that states its a Case rather than a working one, if not when they scan it they may send it for checking its in accordance with the flight safety rules brought in by IATA.

To be honest I can't remember if there is any requirement for you to do so.

If eveything is ok then it should recommence its journey shortly.

Ah okay, lets hope for the best. I don't think the seller has stated anything on the envelope about its content. Is it required at all?

it is for countries outside the EU - going in both directions (a CN22), but beyond the usual labels for hazardous products, in the EU the CN22 is not a requirement.
