Hi. Just a quick question. I ordered something from the UK to fly to Ireland and it ended up with the "do not fly nrc" tag. I done a bit of googling and got the gist of it. My question is, since the NRC is in Belfast and got over this side of the pond without flying, will they just send it on its way anyway, or still destroy it?
Btw its do do with a Lithium battery

Royal Mail won't have any say in whether it's destroyed or not it'll be down to the CAA

Re: Question about "do not fly nrc"
It would appear that the sender has broken the law by sending this item: I am guessing that this is a lithium battery not connected to equipment, which it is illegal to send outside of the UK (there is a derogation allowing posting within the UK under strict conditions). Technically, the sender could be prosecuted for this and get a criminal record, but in practice the destruction of the item is normally considered punishment enough.
From your point of view, you should apply for a refund from the seller. It is their responsibility to get the item to you, and if they can't find a carrier who can do this within the law then they shouldn't have taken the order.

The mad thing is if they did send it on to you it would have to go back to the International Mail Centre at Heathrow rather than direct from Belfast. As far as I am aware (AFAIAA) there are no official direct mal connections between the South and North, it has to go through Heathrow.
As to how it gets to Belfast, well as they are now aware its a banned item my guess is that they store it in the UK till they have enough other items, and then either send by road, or within an approved and safe container, and with the appropriate paperwork.
