Pro-Royal Mail Consumer Group

Is there any consumer group that has been created for everyday (non-business) customers to show their support for the services of Royal Mail?

There seems to be a real need for a forum for people to be allowed to discuss some of the details of the many problems that they have personally faced when dealing with the private delivery services that have managed to substantially lower standards in the past few years.

For example, since the NHS began to send out hospital appointment details via the second-class service of TNT a lot of the letters arrive either on the day of the actual appointment or on the following day.

I have had personal experience of this and have reported the problem time and time again to Hammersmith Hospital but with absolutely no response.

Their "cost-savings" exercise probably looks quite good on the books as far as admin costs are concerned but has resulted in a record number of missed appointments; which must be costing the NHS many millions.

Such experiments in "false economy" need to be openly addressed and exposed for what they are and the NHS should go back to using the reliable services of the Royal Mail.

In the meantime it would be a good idea for there to be a place where those who want to support the Royal Mail can air their views and share their experiences.

Here's wishing the hard-working staff of the Ealing postal district a very happy holiday season.
