Hi
Shouldn't first class reach the next day please? I know that this is not a guaranteed service. I thought that the parcel should reach the person the next day? I posted yesterday about 7 parcels morning. Used first class signed for service. Tracking shows that only one parcel has reached the destination! One out of 7. Is it due to Christmas rush or is this the norm? Thank you.
I ony normally use second class signed for. I thought I would use first class this week because naturally everyone would be in a hurry to receive their parcels and didn't want to disappoint them or keep them waiting.
However, as a recepient of parcels, I must say that I have always received first class, the very next day.

Normally it would be next day but as you point out its Christmas the sheer volume can lead to delays. My section today had 13 shrouds of packets first thing - we normally get 4, thats just an indication of how much busier it can get.

Re: First Class signed for.
Wow! I must say that Royal Mail staff are working hard. I had a delivery before 8am this morning! I was vaccum cleaning and the lovely guy waited for me to run upstairs to get my key despite how busy he was. His jeep was so full. But that said my sales have gone dead quiet so I am hoping at least the parcels sent out keep moving fast and reach there before xmas or my customers will start moaning and claiming (some amazon buyers are professional claimants). I am surprised by the tactics some of them use.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Normally it would be next day but as you point out its Christmas the sheer volume can lead to delays. And I must add, the parcel that my lovely postie delivered this morning was ordinary signed for second class! I mean delivery before 8am! So I suspect Royal Mail is treating our parcels without the discrimination of first and second class.
