Lost? 2nd class signed 21st Oct. RM status We have your item

Post by sholland »

Firstly, thank you to all you staff who give your personal time so freely to help us. Especially with Xmas around the corner.
I posted a small parcel signed for second class to Doncaster. I emailed him with tracking number and date of posting. BZ324026853GB
This is latest info.

Status: We have your item

We have tried to deliver your item from our HATFIELD (DN) Delivery Office before 15:02 on 23/10/14 and we have left a while you were out card.

There are instructions on the card on how to collect your item or arrange a Redelivery.

Last update: 23 October 2014, 03:02pm

However, The recipient has never contacted me asking status of parcel. I asked him by email (as no phone) if item received? This was around 10 days ago, with no reply.
I don't know why no reply, I hope he is ok and not in hospital, or worse.
The thing I do not understand is why the parcel has not been returned to me, and still showing as "We have your parcel"? Any ideas please, or should I wait a few more days?
I thought I would ask here first, (rather than CS) as you have always been so helpful before.
Thank you again,
Kind regards, Rob

Items are held at the delivery office for 18 days before being returned to sender that's why the tracking info has not changed yet

It could be that the customer has collected it but for some reason the scan failed and did not update the system.

If you have had no answer from your emails, and the status doesn't change soon then I would say they have the item.

18 days would have been up about 11/11.

Is it possible they have gone away on holiday for a month or two and have a mail retention in place for the duration of their absence from home?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
