Track & Trace Puzzle
Parcel sent today - I have the tracking no but when I check this message appears-
'Information on your item is not yet available online. Information on your Royal Mail Signed For™ item is not yet available'
The sender assures me it has sent and given me a tracking no, believe its using 'Royal Mail Tracked 48' (2-3 working days)
When should I expect the tracking info to appear?

Re: Track & Trace Puzzle
Royal Mail Signed For™ aren't trackable until delivery is successful or attempted.
Most Post Offices scan them on acceptance, but if the sender just popped it into a Post Box then it won't show till delivery is attempted.

Re: Track & Trace Puzzle
Thanks guys for the help, the item when sent would be about 12" x 10" and therefore (I assume) collected by RM?
The sender is an electronics business.

Re: Track & Trace Puzzle
Just a quick question - according to Royal Mail's site:-
http://www.royalmail.com/parcel-despatc ... -24-and-48" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
- it says that items can be tracked 'at at least four track points from our outward mail centre to your customer’s doorstep' - I've just checked the tracking info again and nothing. Will it update when its out for delivery - perhaps in the morning?

Re: Track & Trace Puzzle
Your item is being sent Signed For, not Tracked. If you paid for tracked you need to raise that with the seller.
When it arrives check the label with the barcodes on for definite proof of the tracking type

Re: Track & Trace Puzzle
Hello,
I'm from Romania and I have bought some stuff from an online shop. The seller gave me a traking number (RU402908973GB) in 6/6/2014. The Royal Mayl trackind system shows me the following message:
Status: Please try again.
The system is currently unable to confirm the status of your item with reference RU402908973GB. Please try again later.
The reference number you have entered may be incorrect. Please check and try again. Find out more about tracking reference numbers.
Information on your International Signed item is not yet available.

Re: Track & Trace Puzzle
I have checked that number on all 3 track and traces and I get the same result as you.
Therefore, there are 3 possible reasons.
1. The sender has given you an invalid number.
2. They haven't sent it yet. Most items are scanned at a post Office and at least once before leaving the UK.
3. If its not a major online store there is a chance it could be a scam.
Contact the sender and advise them of the situation if they are legit they may be able to send you a screen grab of their tracking details.

When I track them it reports the number as Royal Mail Signed for. It looks like they haven't been scanned on acceptance but I am not certain that they should be.
For that type, the only guaranteed scan is when delivery is made or attempted.
