Letter International track and trace

Post by two_n_six »

I sent some rail tickets to friends in Sydney (for travelling from London to Edinburgh while here on holiday in June) and was given a reference number to track the letter however it hasn't updated since 30th April. Is it time to start panicing or how long should I hold on as the longer I wait to buy alternative tickets the higher the price goes.
Do you think this mail has been lost? or is this a common occurance?
Your item, posted on 30/04/14 with reference LY65*****GB has been received at our international mail centre and is being made ready for despatch overseas.

Can you please try the tracking number here (http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and post all the entries?

I don't know what DUN means (possibly Dunfermline as the main local sorting office is here)

No DUN is an internal indication that some paperwork was missing (not your concern).

Have you tried the AusPost tracking system yet to see if its there. That would be strange as I would expect to see a handed over to destination country type status. http://auspost.com.au/track/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

However, I would contact Royal Mail on twitter tomorrow to see if they can throw any light on it @royalmail- you'll need to follow them so they can send you a DM.

Thanks I tried the aus link but no items matched my search. If I follow royal mail on twitter is it okay for me to post the whole reference number?

I tried twitter today and although they responded and were sympathetic, I just have to wait until 06/06/14 before submitting a claim. I was hoping for something a bit more pro active.

Sometimes a query from a Customer Services does wonders you never know it might kick start it again.

An update for all you people who helped me.
:dance The tickets have arrived at our friends in Australia so it must have just missed a scan here or been held in Australian customs but they got there in the end. It was quite fortunate when they arrived as they were just about to go ahead with another rail booking.
