The Royal Mail website just says "It's on its way. Your item, posted on 24/03/14 with reference RU408248001GB has been received at our international mail centre and is being made ready for despatch overseas.". :Very Happy

It is by either Airsure or International Signed For, I don't know which the RU prefix is, someone else will I'm sure.

Be aware that when sending internationally the ebay seller should send by a signature/delivery confirmation method. Asking them not to is not going to help as they need the backup of proof of posting/delivery in the event of claims from you.

It may not end up with GLS but with whoever your national postal carrier is - check the tracking again in a day or two and see who it has been handed over to.

According to http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Date Time Status Track point
24/03/14 20:31 DESPATCHABLE TOHWDC SIGNED FOR ROAD 2 MANCHESTER MAIL CENTRE
24/03/14 19:34 COLLECTED MANCHESTER MAIL CENTRE
24/03/14 13:12 ACCEPTED AT POL 1 West Street M26 1PP

It has been sent International Signed For so may be delivered in your country (which country are you) by GLS. The seller probably sends everything by either Airsure or International Signed For (both handled by GLS in some countries) without fail. Reading the help stuff on PayPal from https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/helpc ... PHUB&m=TCI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you've sold something:

Without proof-of-delivery that can be tracked online, any claim of non-receipt is unlikely to be found in your favour. We advise looking into the delivery options that are available to you and consider making the cost of delivery with online tracking, mandatory for your customers.

If you've bought something:

If a Significantly Not as Described claim is decided in your favour, we may ask you to return the item to the seller to solve the claim. It's usually necessary for us to see online tracking to prove that the item was delivered to the correct person at the correct address.
That's probably why they sent it ISF as they don't want to take any chances

It was only accepted/posted yesterday afternoon - give it a chance they have to do some checks and assign it to the correct aircraft etc.

Also as its ISF its won't be tracked fully unless it gets delivered by GLS. If it gets delivered by the Portuguese Post Office they only scan it on arrival in the country and on delivery so its status may not change for a few days.

Frankly I cannot understand why you are getting "pissed" - its only been going for 48 hours . In any system where items have to travel between different geographical regions in a country, and then to another country and via a minimum of 3 operators there has to be some time where it is stationary or unscanned.

You should be a little more patient however it does look like Royal mail are passing it on to GLS according to this site http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. It won't appear on GLS tracking system until they actually scan it and there will be a gap between Royal Mail sending it to them and them getting it, we haven't had the star trek beaming technology installed yet.

No Need to be rude and to shout, what exactly have royal mail done wrong?

it took less than two days from posting to be passed over to portugal deliery service to be delivered how fast did you think it would be?

we are only trying to help you and all you can do is complain about the service you are recieveing which quite frankly seems to be working fine, just that you are to impatient and expect it to be delivered straight away, also the item more than likely will go to GLS for delivery :Very Happy

But why are you upset at us - we are not Royal Mail. We are Royal Mail Postmen and women on an unofficial site, volunteering and giving up our own time to answer questions and offer advice. We certainly have no control over who Royal Mail pass it on to, or how long it takes to get to you.

If you are angry and want to vent your frustration then don't do it here, find an official channel to do that. Its not fair on our membership and frankly its not welcome.
