Late Special Delivery

Hi,

I sent out an item via special delivery on Monday (02/12/13) but the tracking has not updated since 5:30am on Tuesday. The tracking results are as follows:

Could anyone offer any more help with this?

You will be due a refund on postage. However you are best contacting Royal Mail direct to find out where its gone, you could try twitter @royalmail

Thanks for the quick reply, I have already contacted them via twitter and have just been told that it is not considered lost until 10 days has elapsed which isn't really helpful to me.

What does it mean if it has been reaccepted at another post office?

Now thats a strange one - that is the one that should be used first when someone hands it over at a Post office.

3 Possibilities The most likely being that there was a delay for some reason and they have only tried to deliver it today got no answer and handed it to a PO to be sent back to the Delivery office.

Or that they attempted delivery on 3 Dec 2013 but no one was in and tracking was not updated and the postie handed it over at a Post Office to be sent back to the Delivery office, but the post office didn't do so till a few minutes ago.

The least likely is that there are 2 identical bar codes issued within days of each other.

Is the Post Code anywhere near the destination.

or recipient has re used the packaging with the original barcode, that actually happens surprisingly often and not picked up on by some post offices

has the recipient definitely not received the item?

Im not sure whether they have received it, I have contacted them twice to no avail but was told by Royal mail that it is very unlikely that the package is delivered if it is not tracking as so.

EDIT: Yes the post office was just a few miles from the recipient

I suspect delivery has been attempted - check on it tonight and see if moves .

Now been accepted at the post office again this morning... very strange

Yes I am at a loss to explain that, unless they didn't pass it on to the collection staff last night. Wierd.
