Implications on mail after the UK's exit from the EU

still in UK.

I bought something on ebay uk and it has been sent via Royal Mail.
The latest status of the tracking:
It's on its way (before that: that it reached the destination country Germany)
Your item, posted on 03/06/13 with reference RQ4443339#### has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in GERMANY

status: DESPATCHED TO GLS GERMANY track point: GERMANY

So I just called GLS in Germany and they told me that it is still in UK. Why these discrepancies between tracking system and reality???

Because there is a physical distance between Germany and the UK, and whilst not subject to VAT they still have to conform to various regulations so they will have to go through the various Borders and/or Customs procedures needed to ensure that everything is ok. Sadly although there has been some development in transporter technology recently its still not available and instantaneous travel between countries is still a bit of a way off.
