Help with CN22 form for returned item

Post by davthepunk »

So, I've got an item that I'll be needing to return to a seller outside of the EU (Japan) - value of about 40GBP.

This is the first time I've had to do this. Could you tell me if there's something that I need to write on the CN22 form, or on the package itself to indicate that these are returned goods, so that my seller doesn't get charged by his local customs to receive his stuff back?

I dimly remember reading somewhere that there is a way of doing this (though I may be wrong - been known to happen)...

Thanks very much.

Right - thanks...

I'm a bit confused about the 'No Commercial Value' bit, though. I mean, I'm planning to send the thing via International Signed For, in case it gets lost/damaged on the way to Japan, as it's worth more than £20 - but will putting £0 as the value affect that at all?

Because they are returned goods (and put that as shown) there is no commercial value. There is only a commercial value when its sold, and thats what the VAT man is interested in.
