I'm from Portugal and I bought an item from a british seller on Ebay. I can track it since the service being used is International Signed For.
The problem is that I've been checking the item's status via online tracking and it hasn't been updated in 4 days. The last update was "Collected - Manchester Mail Centre".
I'm fine if it has been delayed for a bit but it just seems odd that after 4 days it is still sitting in Manchester and not being sent to London... Any thoughts?

It might not have been scanned out afterwards, best bet is to ring the office in question and see if they can shed any light

Thanks for the reply. I've been trying to find the phone number for the office but I've already found like 5 different ones in different websites. Is there any official website with those contacts?coxie wrote:It might not have been scanned out afterwards, best bet is to ring the office in question and see if they can shed any light

Re: Item stuck in Manchester Mail Centre?
International Signed For only offers a fully tracked service if sent by airmail, otherwise it's simply a signature on delivery product as far as Royal Mail are concerned.
Some destination countries will track the item after it is passed into their hands though so you could try CTT or GLS.

A lot are listed in a PDF document that a RMC member got as a result of a Freedom of Information request - its an official document so "should" be accurate - although not all are listed. http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... =6&t=33048" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;noobalhao wrote:Thanks for the reply. Ok I found the phone number thanks for linking me that .pdf. Will they be able to help me even if the only information I have is the tracking number? I'm the recipient not the sender.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:A lot are listed in a PDF document that a RMC member got as a result of a Freedom of Information request - its an official document so "should" be accurate - although not all are listed. http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... =6&t=33048" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;noobalhao wrote: Thanks for the reply. Re: Item stuck in Manchester Mail Centre?
Manchester Mail Centre Special Delivery locker are processing in excess of 16,000 items per night outward and a lot of it is overseas mail. #when the volume is to great to scan it all out to HWDC, all they do is sort it without scanning the items. The next scan should show it despatched to Portugal.noobalhao wrote:I'm from Portugal and I bought an item from a british seller on Ebay. Thank you so much for the reply! I was starting to feel a little concerned but if that is the case I'll just stay calm and wait for the next updatepostman1979 wrote:

Interesting to know - thank you. Is this just a temporary increase in throughput or the status quo?postman1979 wrote:Manchester Mail Centre Special Delivery locker are processing in excess of 16,000 items per night outward and a lot of it is overseas mail. #when the volume is to great to scan it all out to HWDC, all they do is sort it without scanning the items. Re: Item stuck in Manchester Mail Centre?
Its the normal daily figure for mail processed on the late shift. Mondays are always higher than this though.harry84 wrote:Interesting to know - thank you.
