Mail Collect service query

Post by laurie21 »

Hi I'm thinking of using mail collect, as I'm having some privacy issue's with my mail (i've recently moved back home and my family are actually opening my own mail!)

I'm filling in the application form and for example if I filled it in as Miss Anne Smith, would mail addressed as Miss A Smith still be kept at the delivery office for mail collect too?

It's a little complicated as me and my mother have the same initials although she's a 'Mrs', basically asking if they take title into account, with mail collect?

Thanks and hope that's not confusing.

I would say in most cases they would divert any Miss A Smith and Miss Anne Smith - however I would list both just in case. Also when you do your first collection just have a word with the staff and make them aware that there are similar names at the address.

However, fair warning, most will be diverted to collection for you, but there may be some instances when, because of the similarity in names, your items are delivered in error - expect that but IF it happend don't get angry with the callers office, just politely point it out to them and hopefully it will mean they remember you and are more willing to keep an eye out for errors for you.

I'd also try to ensure that people sending you letters use your title and first name rather than sending stuff as "A Smith" as obviously the staff won't know whether to keep or deliver!
