HWDC Langley delays/letter from spain

Post by Kondor »

hello,

i've sent a registered mail with urgent delivery price to the UK from Spain 10 days ago.

by the tracking information I can see that letter left Madrid on the 30 of october 2012 but since then I have no idea where the letter is. It s very important because I can loose a job if this letter does not reach its final destination in Norwich.
I called the royal mail customer service but they don t know where the letter is as the tracking number does not appear on their tracking system.RR558969256ES
I guess that it should be in LANGLEY HWDC since day 31 of october (8 days ago).
Does it mean that it's held in their customs for inspection? should the receiver except to receive a letter from customs? what is happening?
I really need to know and I am desperate.
Thanks
Nicolas

Looking at the tracking on the Spanish website I think it might not have left Spain yet

First of all, thank you for your answers.
I did call the spanish post office and they assure me that the mail left madrid on the 30th of october. The tracking number is displaying this information.
30/10/2012 Salida de la Oficina Internacional de origen. (left the international office from origin)
I called twice and they are telling me exactly the same thing, based on this information obviously.
I am desperate because it s impossible to get a reliable info.
Is there any way we can contact the HWDC?
thanks

Sorry no way to contact HWDC,The Bermuda Triangle of Royal Mail.
Keep trying the tracking number, the ES site is not working properly as i type.
Things do take their time when they arrive at HWDC.

Hello!
finally some news this morning.
08/11/2012 Delivery to the destination international office. After 10 days since it left Spain...
Does this mean that this is going to leave Langley HWDC quickly?

Any idea how long this can take from now to get to its final destination in Norwich?

This is really unacceptable,e specially for an urgent mail.
First time and last time I´ll use the Royal mail to send important documents.

Thanks.

You didn't use Royal Mail. You used your own postal operator who took 10 days to get it to this country. That's not a problem with RM, that's a problem with your own postal operator.

a letter was posted to me from Spain since 28 November 2012. With the Spanish tracking Reference RR632566102ES, the letter has got to International Destination which is the UK, and Also I consulted the Royalmail local post office. And it was tracked with the same Reference number Above. They discovered that it was Tracked in the Heathrow airport on the 3 of december 2012 at 14:58. So what is going on, the letter is so important to me and Im despirate to have it. please let me no who is with my letter please.

Most likely reason is that the letter is stuck in customs, if it is there is nothing that RM can do until customs release the item to them for delivery. It's not unheard of for things to take a month to get through. Was the item sent via Spain's equivalent of Airsure (International Special Delivery) or International Signed For (International Recorded Delivery)?

I don't think Langley scans incoming parcels, if they did then they would be in a different stream other than just dumped into the normal packets. As has been said before, sometimes these codes are just given out by the senders to make it look like it's somewhere when the codes may not even be for your item.
