Question regarding Mail Collect

Post by liztaylor »

I live in flat & i share an entrance door with another flat. The entrance door has a letter box but not my flat. Recently my neighbour leaves the entrance open. So i was wondering can i use the mail collect service giving the reason- i dont have letter box.

Just scared as the sorting office will send my mails back to senders if they dont agree to start the mail collect service.

2ndly it says minimum 4 weeks which is free but what happpens after that ? Will they stop or if they extend , will they charge ?

you dont need to give any reason to start mail collect, the service is free and continues till you no longer want it, you are supposed to collect your mail at least once a week, its part of the terms and conditions that if you dont and the sorting office doesnt have room to store all your mail then they deliver it to you, they dont send it back, they only send back items like recorded deliveries or special deliveries if uncollected after 18 days

Mail Collect is simple to arrange. You just complete an application form from our Document Library, listing people who need us to hold their mail at the Delivery Office. The rest of your mail will be delivered as usual.

If a named individual receives a Special Delivery™ item, the item will be kept securely and an advice card will be left with the Mail Collect mail awaiting collection. A signature will then be requested when you come to collect your mail. For Recorded Signed For™, the item will be with kept with the Mail Collect items and a signature will be requested when you come to collect your mail. Please note that we’ll deliver mail if it remains uncollected after six days.
