Probably yes.

It was processed in Glasgow, I would assume that all mail from the area goes there to be processed (and franked) and then sent on it's way.

Irvine has a Kilmarnock postcode (KA10,KA11) but all such KA mail is probably sent straight to the Glasgow mail centre, Irvine being a wee thirty miles from Glasgow, so your boyfriend most likely was where he said he was. :nana

Irvines mail is taken to glasgow for processing as well as most mail on west coast of scotland, hence the glasgow post mark, so it probably was posted in irvine unfortunately no way to know for sure!

it will be franked at a mail centre, not a delivery office or post office.

The answers are correct thenewsfighter (except sodiium's :Very Happy )

All the mail from the PA, KA & ML (and FK I think) areas are sent to Glasgow Mail Centre for processing and would bear a Glasgow postmark.
