re: Best quality of service in years, or figures fake?

Post by F0zziebear »

The quality of service stats are independently done so if they are the best on record then surely your previous comments don't stack up.

Or is this because mail is now delivered later?

It's a bit of everything mate I get complaints on the walks i do even now.
When everything went pear shaped who do you think was getting the grief out on the streets, people chasing you for Giros cause the nearest post office (previous nearest one had been closed down) was due to have it's half day close.
People moaning about late deliverys, dodgy Post Office prices ect, ect, ect.

This thread was meant to gauge customers feelings on the stuff that has been going on and how they rate the service now, after all the changes.

Oh and becase an office has cleared,MLO or DO it does not mean that the quality of service is good or has gone up :no no
Read through some of the threads in the forums, that will tell you.

I agree

I agree with you.

I am a strong advocate in training frontline staff. You are the face of the company out on the street. Unfortunately training always seemed to get cut when there were financial pressures.

I also agree reagrding clearing the office. Whilst it is an indicator that quality will be reasonable, it is questionable regarding the quality. The interesting thing from my persepctive is that it's a lottery as to what time you get your post. Obviously the people at the beginning of the round don't complain!

Most people go to work so early that delivering their mail during the morning is pointless as it doesn't get picked up until mid afternoon. Don't be surprised in the competition realise this and deliver most mail in the afternoon (as most will be direct mail!)

It's also a shame that most of the public also percieve royal mail to be the post office. This causes a conflict and you get the brunt when they can't get their things from the PO! But then it was the government who basically took away the financial legitimacy of the Post Office. We are trying to be a private company and a public one at the same time. The senior management are trying to run it as a private company with hands tied behind their backs.

Anyway enough from me as I'm not really a customer

Think our biggest problem with all this, is unsettling the customers. I've been in the job over 18 yrs, and in my experience, they like the same face, and preferrably, around the same times. RM say they listen, but do they really? We now have in place, workplace coaches, and to be fair, they are doing ok. However, anyone starting in the job now must either be mad, or desperate, it's simply not the job it was. Our office workload is HEAVY, but theres nobody on the IPS. Theres loads of people doing ot, so they let 'em off the IPS so they can throw off their walks and the ot they are doing. This really slows EVERYONE down, and we get out later, and the pressure hours go throught the roof! :d'oh!
