I've been asked to check something for a friend of mine, who's planning a trip to America. According to the Terms and Conditions, the Post Office Travel Insurance covers anyone who has a stable undiagnosed condition. Does anyone know if there are any restrictions, on the nature of the condition?
My friend has an undiagnosed Neurological condition, which has been stable for nearly 5 years now. But wants to make sure that everythings covered, before setting off.
My friend has been refused Travel Insurance, by several other companies. Because the condition hasn't been diagnosed yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Post Office Travel Insurance
On the first page of the travel Insurance policy there are 5 questions regarding health restrictions.
1. Is any person waiting for an operation, a post-operative check-up
any investigations or the result of one, eg scan,X-ray,biopsy, blood test etc,
any other hospital treatment or consultation.
2. Has any person ever received tratment for a stroke, any form of cancer,
leukaemia, a transplant, any heart problem, dialysis or diabetes.
3. Has any person received treatment in the last 12 months for any blood
disorder, breathing, or respiratory problems, psychiatric illness or dementia.
4. In the last 3 months has any person been seen by a specialist or been admitted
to hospital overnight.
5. Has any person been given a terminal prognosis by a registered doctor.
If the insured person answers yes to any of the 5 questions, they must call the Post Office medical screening
line on 0845 602 5275 and quote scheme PTS2 to see if they can provide cover for your existing condition(s).
They will ask some specific qustions and will tell you of they can provide cover for the existing medical condition(s).
You may have to pay an additional amount to obtain cover for your existing medical condition(s).
Don't know whether that helps at all, but I suggest your friend rings the PO medical screening line and asks them.

Re: Post Office Travel Insurance
My friend answered no to all the questions. But I'll get them to phone the helpline, just in case. Thanks.
