Postbox nearby is missing the service plate - who contact ?

Post by leamphil »

I'd be grateful if someone could advise who to contact to get the service plate on a pillarbox replaced (the plate on the front of the Pillar box that says when collections will be) ? The plate disappeared a month or so ago. Postbox is at https://maps.app.goo.gl/QLsW6jMcaeAawFWD8

E-mail preferred as I don't like navigating a twisty set of options on the phone.

BTW what's the correct terminology for the plate on the front of a pillarbox ?

I tried to find a way to report it online, and it was worse than the phone menu system, lots of dead ends and useless results when searching. There is no email address specifically for Problems with post boxes, and when I tried "contact us" it just kept me running round in circles.

It's called a collection plate officially, and I would report it via email at customer.service@royalmail.com, given their terrible customer service webpages.

You probably know this but the collection times are:

LILLINGTON ROAD
12, B Type Pillar, CV32

Last collection times
Monday-Friday
09:00:00
Saturday
07:00:00

An alternative method to report - website form you can fill in to report something:

https://help.royalmail.com/s/complaints

and select 'My problem isn't listed here' in the drop down.

Don't know why the postie hasn't report it. If you see him he can report it immediately on his PDA.

Most of the post boxes round here (NW London) don't have a collection plate now. Just a small silver plate saying when next collection will be - Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat.
No specific time. The collection driver just changes the plate to next day when he collects.

DIdn't know that, will have a look tomorrow! Perhaps postie was told to remove!
