Hi
On 11th December I sent a package containing vinyl records to someone in Austria. My Royal Mail tracking says it has been in Customs in Vienna since 27th December. It says it is "still being assessed by the destination customs authority". (See attachment)
Does anyone have any experience of such a long delay? Should I put this down to Christmas volume and relax? Understandably, the intended recipient is anxious and frustrated.
Any help, advice, words of experience much appreciated.

I doubt anyone on here will have specific knowledge of Austrian customs. But in general, many customs authorities pick out batches of mail at random for extra checks, meaning that clearance times are not consistent.
You are getting much better tracking than normal on this item!
