I'm struggling to upload images, but would love to know what folks think is going on with the tracking on this/these packages, which I've been following since yesterday afternoon?

This is supposed to be just one packet shipped yesterday on an SD by 1pm, however it seems to have briefly hooked up with a pen pal, for a long-distance, whirlwind 24 hour inflight fling:

[Edit - packets' tracking information contained too much personal information]

As per the title:
  • Two completely seperate packets
  • Two different outward Post Offices
  • Two hundred miles apart
  • Two or three hours apart for all scans (so far!)
  • Two different inward DOs, hundreds of miles apart
  • Processed at 4 MCs
  • One day
  • One product
  • One tracking number
  • ...One delivery?

I'll try and edit in screenshots of the tracking, but this is a new one for me both personally and professionally; hence I'm keen to tap into the expertise here!

Please feel free to speculate wildly, extra credit for good humour, but obviously it would be most interesting to find out how and why this might have happened in this way...and also whether you think there will be a second delivery today, as it does look tracked out in line with normal local times of inward scanning events on SDs, at least so far :hmmmm

I've tried searching but couldn't find anything to explain this exact scenario. I understand there's been ways to try and get two deliveries from a single label, but wouldn't expect these to be affected since both look like they were posted in post offices - hundreds of miles apart, within a couple of hours of each other - or does that no longer necessarily mean the packet will be checked for the correct stampage when handing over a Click&Drop for collection?

It's not my first duplicate RM inland tracking no (in my personal mail recipient capacity) but previously they're always at least a month or two apart at the earliest, and I assume the old tracking data is normally deleted by the time numbers are normally reused, hence you'd never know in those cases.

It would be easier to "speculate" if you could provide the tracking reference number please ? :cuppa
