click and drop business issues

Post by saphu »

I just had a problem with my depot and i was hoping i could get some clarification: i've been using business click and drop for almost two years- in this time, i've always done what i was told to do when i contracted the service- print labels at home, drop them off at a post office, postal box or depot.
However, my depot is now telling me i cannot drop parcels off at a post box and need to print manifests and drop them off inside, and they will not send my mail until i do.
This would be doable, except for the part where my depot just reduced their hours to only 4 non consecutive hours a day- i cant get there during their opening hours. I chose click and drop years ago because with the odd work schedule i have i wouldnt have to go drop parcels when i cant make it during the depot's business hours.
I was offered the alternative of scheduling a collection- at a high price that i cant pay for 20 packages a week, or use a post office location farther away, from which parcels tended to disappear when i lived closer and did drop parcels off there( i lost a lot of money because of this, so i would like to avoid this option).
I was also told i need to print out a manifest on the same day i both print labels and send parcels, which is just not feasible. With my working hours and the depot's/ post office hours, i'd have *one* hour each day to pick, package, print labels and manifests and walk to the depot, every day. ( i work 6-4, i can arrive home at 5 at the earliest, and the depot is only open 4-6).

Is this information correct? I have talked on the phone with Royal mail business services and been told i can drop packages off at boxes without the neex for a manifest, but the depot has categorically told me that this isnt possible and that i *need* to do all steps of the process in the same day.
