Hi All,
I was expecting a printed document to be delivered today (20th Sept) as I need it for the next day. At first the tracking showed it was supposed to arrive today between 1025-1425. However now that I checked the tracking again, it says at 1307 "Incorrectly addressed. Returned to sender." and at 1352 "Item Retention." I have been home all day and did not hear or notice any attempt for delivery at 1307, and no red cards were left behind.
Are they going to attempt to deliver again tomorrow, or can I go to the local DO tomorrow morning to try and collect it in person? I really need this document for the afternoon of the 21st.

If incorrectly addressed then RM can’t attempt to deliver it.

If it is incorrectly addressed why are they retaining it?
Are they hoping someone with a little bit more specialist knowledge will be there tomorrow or are they hoping you will turn up at the enquiry office looking for it?
If you need it I would go and ask for it this afternoon if the office is open.

Hey All,
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately the local DO closes at 1200 so I had no way of checking within today. I did phone the RM and been told it's already been scanned to be delivered back to the sender within today so there's nothing they can do about it. I've resorted to printing another set of my documents.

Not sure if anyone is still following this post but perhaps an update for someone who finds it in the future - so they did attempt to deliver it again today. Not sure why RM customer service who I phoned yesterday claimed it was already on its way back to the sender and there was nothing they could do to stop it going back. Going forward would definitely check with local DO first, or wait a day or two, just that this time unfortunately I needed my documents urgently.
