Hey Guys
I'm a customer and I have a question about the tracked 24 service. I ordered some items worth about £100 and the seller decided to use this service. All was good to start with as the tracking showed exactly where my parcel was and it said it would be delivered on 29 March. Well I was out when an attempt was made to deliver it. I didn't get a red card, but I did get an email saying that I could rearrange the delivery, which I did for 30 March. When it hadn't arrived by 6pm on that day I went to my local delivery office to ask about my parcel. The woman who spoke to me (I'm assuming that she was a manager because she wasn't wearing a uniform) said that it was still out for delivery and that I should get it by 8pm that evening. Well it's monday 3 April now, I haven't got my parcel, but the tracking app says that it's still out for delivery. Can anyone give me some advice about what to do please? Any help really appreciated!
Chris
By the way saw article today about the Royal Mail manager who played the April Fool about the pay rise. I didn't understand much about the other things, but what sort of person can see a joke in your dispute about trying to get a living wage? It says a lot about your managers and possibly Unite?

Without the tracking number it's hard to advise, its also possible that an update has happened between your post and my reply, that's why we ask for a tracking number.
Generically, yes it should have been delivered by now. Try checking the tracking on https://parcelsapp.com/en sometimes that site is better than the Royal Mail one.

Re: Question about Tracked 24
Thank you for your reply True Blue Terrier. Just to update you.
This morning at 11am we had 9 items of post delivered plus the stuff from Farm foods, Dominoes Pizza etc. Amongst the 9 items were the Tracked 24 hr and 2 items from Amazon which should have been delivered last week. We rarely get such a large amount of mail in one day so I've asked around our road about other people's experiences. Taking everything into account it appears that we haven't had a delivery in our road since Wednesday of last week.
How can this happen as I thought Royal mail was obliged to deliver 6 days a week? Is it worth making a complaint about our quality of service? FYi we live in the Portsmouth area. Our regular, reliable postman seems to be a thing of the past.
Thanks for your help.

As BenacreNick hints, this is becoming normal now, and you are right it shouldn't, it's a failure of Royal Mail Universal Service Obligation. Yes, I would make a complaint both to Royal Mail and if you think it's worthwhile your local MP as well.
The USO and Royal Mail are political issues at the moment, and with our CEO and Chairman appearing before a parliamentary committee recently, and that same committee referring Royal Mail to the regulator for not complying with the USO, and with Elections on 4 May, MPs should be more responsive to issues like this and more likely to take some action.
