Hi there again guys.
I asked for a package to be delivered to my local Post Office - i.e. I went on the RM track and trace and requested it because I knew that I wasn't going to be in to receive it. Lo and behold, the postie just tried to deliver it to my house, left me a card and then took it back to the delivery office when I didn't answer the door.
I know mistakes can happen, but this is like the 5th time in a year that this has happened to me. I don't like complaining, but I finally emailed Royal Mail through their website. Not sure how much good it will do, but it's getting annoying now.
I'm just wondering if this is a common thing, or if it's just some specific issue with my local posties. Or am I missing the point somewhere?
Cheers.

Might be worth asking the PO if they do actually accept deliveries

Yeah, they definitely do. I pick up parcels from there quite often. It just seems that a percentage of them get sent to my house anyway. I've even had a couple sent to a different Post Office on the other side of town.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑18 Mar 2023, 14:17Might be worth asking the PO if they do actually accept deliveries

If you are completing the inflight process correctly then there is no reason that it should not be left at the Post Office.
It may be a lack of training in one particular postie that covers your address only intermittently.
When the postie scans the item as "Ready For Delivery" then the PDA should alert them that the item has an inflight direction and it tells them what it is. It can be held for delivery another day, to another address or a Post Office, but it always alerts on the PDA.

You've presumed they scanned it. We scan our own parcels now, possibly a runner cutting corners.TrueBlueTerrier wrote: ↑20 Mar 2023, 08:58If you are completing the inflight process correctly then there is no reason that it should not be left at the Post Office.

Thanks anyway. I got ahold of my parcel today, FWIW.
