I’ve had 4 items marked as delivered over the last 5 years but never actually been delivered. There have been investigations which apparently came back with nothing.
The latest item was delivered on Saturday and the photo shows clearly this is not our house. I rang up Royal Mail customer service on saturday 3 times and they told us it was delivered to the wrong street. I told them to go and get it about 7 times but they couldn’t cared less. They also confirmed they are not allowed to tell us where it was delivered to, but they know exactly where the parcel was left.
Yesterday I contacted Royal Mail customer service again twice and found out they did not even put my parcel down as delivered to the wrong address, now I’m absolutely fuming.
I don’t feel Royal Mail is taking this situation seriously at all. In my opinion this is STEALING!!! I payed a lot of money for my order and in my opinion I own this parcel, but they are not willing to help me to get it.
I can only hope the seller will send a replacement…

Re: Delivered to wrong address
It is the seller's legal responsibility to refund or replace an item that was not delivered.
If you have a general problem with RM not delivering to the correct address then I suggest that you escalate this to the next stage of RM's complaint process. You should include the reference from each time you have complained about this to back up your claim.

Re: Delivered to wrong address
Maybe the tracking reference number also reveals the GPS location where the parcel was actually delivered to ?

Re: Delivered to wrong address
This is not true, if you buy from eBay for example you are out of pocket. As far as eBay are concerned if tracking shows as delivered, that is it, the fact that it is the wrong address would not be seen. I never saw a single cent from Royal Mail or from the sellers I bought from. (2 of those missed parcels)It is the seller's legal responsibility to refund or replace an item that was not delivered.
The seller is sending a replacement, but it is a big loss for a small business, a parcel worth almost £600 was delivered to the wrong address.
Royal Mail customer service confirmed they know where the parcel was scanned and delivered to. Why does the postman not collect the parcel next time she/he delivers something to this address. This makes no sense to me. Go and collect it!!Maybe the tracking reference number also reveals the GPS location where the parcel was actually delivered to ?

Re: Delivered to wrong address
The local management should have received notice of the error and sent someone out to retrieve the item. Perhaps thisZaza wrote: ↑02 Mar 2023, 19:23This is not true, if you buy from eBay for example you are out of pocket. has been done but there has been nobody in to retrieve it from or they are denying they've had it. In any scenario
it would be good customer service to update you with a status report.

Re: Delivered to wrong address
It is the seller's legal responsibility. If eBay are failing to ensure that happens as they should then you should be claiming a recharge via your credit card provider.Zaza wrote: ↑02 Mar 2023, 19:23This is not true, if you buy from eBay for example you are out of pocket. It would be, but if the seller used an appropriate service then they should be able to claim from Royal Mail, so there is no good reason for the seller to be out of pocket.

like expected, the 5 working days are gone and no update on the investigation. The local management should have received notice of the error and sent someone out to retrieve the item. Perhaps this

Same problem, if tracking shows as delivered you will lose the case.It is the seller's legal responsibility. If eBay are failing to ensure that happens as they should then you should be claiming a recharge via your credit card provider.
I hope they will claim their money back from Royal Mail.It would be, but if the seller used an appropriate service then they should be able to claim from Royal Mail, so there is no good reason for the seller to be out of pocket.
