USPS / Parcelforce delivery - stuck over the Atlantic?

Post by BloodEagle »

Hello all - a first post here from one anxious UK resident. I am expecting a parcel from the US who's status is stuck on "Your item departed a transfer airport in INTERNATIONAL, MIAMI, UNITED STATES on January 21, 2023" on the USPS site, and "Despatched to the UK" on the same date on the Parcelforce site. Can anyone shed any light on what may have happened here and where my parcel actually is - Ive contacted both USPS and PF via Twitter but USPS says it has left the US, and PF say it is not yet scanned into their network. So where on earth is it? If anyone can help or share similar experiences I would be extremely grateful! The USPS log is as follows -

The short answer is: probably customs. Because that is usually where things are when they don’t receive any scans for a while at this stage of the journey.

Actually, USPS will usually scan items off the plane, and I can’t see that scan here. But the occasional scan does get missed, it probably isn’t anything to be concerned about.

Contents of the parcel are a leather jacket - nothing exotic or contraband - but something which i would be absolutely gutted to lose. I have seen other people saying that there parcels are scanned upon arrival at langley or something, but being parcelforce surely this would go straight to Coventry? And would it be scanned by PF before or after customs take over? My head is spinning with all the conflicting info Ive been seen and Im beginning to lose it a bit haha. Is it possible that its just hanging out waiting to be looked at by customs even without that last USPS scan as it seems v odd that the last scan is it departing the US supposedly?

Thanks for any help guys

This exactly. It could be delayed in either US or UK.

Still no update to the tracking for this and I’m beginning to lose it a bit - I cannot imagine what the hold up is - could it still be in the US waiting for a flight? I has anybody got any similar experiences that turned out well, just to give me some hope haha?

If anyone cares, my parcel turned up this Wednesday the 8th of Feb, so 3 weeks after it was posted. This was a relief as it was a £2.5k leather jacket sent completely uninsured. No idea where it was for those mystery 2.5 weeks, but all is well. Keep hope alive anyone else in my situation
