Tracked International Letter No Update?!

Post by StaceyLouise1991 »

Hello everyone, I have a question: I have sent an international tracked letter on Tuesday the 6th, but it is still stuck on ‘we’ve got it’ and it hasn’t left the post office yet, does anyone know when it is likely to be on the move? as I was hoping it would have at least been at Langley now before the strike tomorrow but it doesn’t seem like that’s likely to happen now. It’s a Christmas card which I’m now concerned won’t reach them in time for Christmas ☹️

Probably still not been scanned by the mail centre but it is already there. Just not been processed yet.
I had to wait from Friday last week till Monday this week for my special delivery and tracked 24 to get a first scan at the mail centre.
They are swamped with stuff due to the strikes and the expected increased traffic of mail around Christmas. Lots of mail centres even today that could not process all mail if you check out the Royal Mail service update page. It will move but everything is slow at the moment.

You are lucky that they have got it down as "we've got it" - we've got over 200 international priority parcels that were sent on the 29th still showing on the tracking that they are expecting it - in fact it's everything from 29th onwards not just that date.
Customers are going nuts because it looks like we haven't sent them when they've all been collected by Royal Mail

I've had international tracked items before where the first time tracking updated after the post office was when they arrived in the destination country..

They cannot cope with strikes backlogs and the increased Christmas mail and they are doing more strikes, so it is just gonna get worse.
I understand why they are going on strike but maybe strikes could have been suspended for December at least or spaced apart more. It is the busiest time of the year and they cannot cope for sure if every week there are two days of strikes.

The fact that it is the busiest time of year increases the employee/unions bargaining power when striking at this time of year..
