delay in processing bulk mail collection?

Post by alexd123 »

I was hoping someone could help me figure this out. So I have been waiting for my glasses to be fixed for over a month. The company was basically 2-3 weeks late with it. finally said they dispatched it 48hr tracked on the 29th, but since there were strikes on the 30th and 1st, it wasn't collected until the 2nd during a bulk collection.
We are now on the 5th and still nothing, the system says "The sender has advised us they're preparing your item. More information will be available when we receive it." and has done despite royal mail having it since Friday morning.
So I assume after the bulk collection there is a giant sack or whatever of 48hr glasses waiting somewhere to be scanned, and then it will take another 48hrs?
I don't know the protocol for these bulk collection situations. Really wish they allowed me to just pay for next day as I think those are getting processed quicker. I am really hoping they arrive soon, the company said it would arrive Tuesday at the latest but I very much doubt that if it is now Monday evening and nothing is logged on the system.
I am so tired of not seeing clearly (I am a book editor annoyingly) and have two work events on Wednesday and Thursday. It sucks to be constantly squinting in foggy glasses and I am honestly going to try and get out of going lest I be photographed looking ridiculous.
So now I am trying to figure out WHAT the situation is with this 48hr parcel and will try to at least intercept it if it magically arrives at my local delivery office before closing tomorrow so I can go to work on Wednesday!
