Ello ello!
On the 25th I posted an international package at the post office for the USA. I warned my friend that due to the strikes it may be late for Christmas, which is fine but I’m curious about what my tracking means.
At 13:03
Received at Post Office
At 13:39
Sender Preparing Item
And then nothing after that since.
I’m just not sure what that means or where my package is in the system. Is it still at that Post Office? Is it elsewhere? Is it stuck somewhere between the two?
I asked the Royal Mail customer chat on Twitter and they said there’s a possibility it left the Post Office but missed the scan. How likely is that?
Any light that can be shed would be appreciated?

Re: International item stuck at “Sender Preparing Item”
Quite possible, we were on strike on the 25th and managers were covering our work, they are not quite as efficient at the job as we are. My guess is that it probably has been delayed but it should get through the system eventually.Dead-ced-dead wrote: ↑01 Dec 2022, 06:43

Re: International item stuck at “Sender Preparing Item”
I have the same for an item arriving from the USA to UK and it has been stuck on sender preparing item, item dispatched to royal mail since 25th october, when it was handed over to rm by the usps carrier asendia. I beleive it means the postman has collected the item from the post office but it hasnt entered the system for onward transit yet. So its probably sat in a warehouse waiting for the back log of parcels to be cleared. Ive read that items are sometimes delivered with no further tracking and that it can take a while at the moment especially for international items through heathrow.
