Posted a parcel that had to be returned to a jewellers in Dublin small in size worth about (£1.3k) I used Royal Mail’s best ‘international tracked and signed for’ service although item would only be insured a maximum - £250.
All my friends said I was completely mad “Why don’t you use a reputable courier company, your item will get lost, item will never be delivered on time, it will be sent to wrong address….they steal expensive items…these people are always on strike”…bla bla the usual jibe.
I was having none of it. Parcel arrived in Dublin got stuck at customs Ireland for a month and An Post had to post my returned item back to me in London (what a palaver!) And my worst nightmare happened, item handed to Royal Mail and it went missing / tracking said delivered to a PO BOX. It was at the National Returns centre in Belfast as I hadn’t put a written address on it …god knows I hadn’t receive a card / email nothing.
I was like noo noo what a fool I’ve been. That was exactly 11 days ago. Phoned customer service and sent an email.
Well well today my usual postman knocked on my door and there it was my lovely little parcel all intact not a dent nor mark on it just as how I posted it hmmm 2 months ago.
10 kisses to that wonderful lady in customer service who helped me that day and 10 hugs for the guy who replied to my email.
ROYAL MAIL I completely support your right to strike and even though you are on strike today my parcel is back in my hands safely. My friends are eating their words !! Haaa
To everyone in the UNITED KINGDOM don’t loose faith in ROYAL MAIL.. I NEVER DID! They work hard and truly are the BEST
