Tracked letter not left Post Office?

Post by gt94sss2 »

I posted an international signed letter on Wednesday 17 August at a Post Office (well before the last collection).

Normally such a letter is at HWDC via a MC within 24 hours.

However, in this case it's been 5 days and the tracking status remains at:
Accepted at Post Office. Your item was posted at Post Office branch.
At what stage is such a letter declared lost/delayed? Is there anything I can do..?

The barcode sticker has probably fallen off. All to common unfortunately, but there is no obvious way of solving it. A lot of it comes down to the material the outer packaging of the parcel is made from.

As long as the address is still on there, it should still make it. Which is why you should always write the address directly on to the item and not use a sticker.

There is nothing that you can do other than wait.

Thanks for your reply.

It was just a normal C5 envelope and the address was handwritten on it.

The International Signed sticker was applied directly by the Post Office
