Please help - parcel scanned twice but not moved?

Post by M.L »

Hi, I’d be grateful for some advice - I sent a gift to a friend abroad about 10 days ago and it’s been scanned twice at Langley 8 days apart - so it obviously hasn’t moved in over a week. Any idea why this would happen? Will tracking update again when it leaves the UK or is it not scanned again between Langley and destination (Maldives)? Thanks in advance

The Maldives is an island country so I doubt that Royal mail will get regular postal flights to it, so it has to rely on commercial flights, which have been heavily impacted by the Covid issue, and indeed still are.

Therefore I don't think delays are unusual. To answer your next question it looks as though the item was passed to Customs prior to an attempt at being boarded onto an aircraft, but then for some reason was either unloaded or not boarded. However, it does look like they made a second attempt to board it yesterday.

Unfortunately, there will be no more tracking whilst it is customs (at either end) but you may see tracking start again when it gets handed over to the destination postal authority. That can be a bit of hit and miss.
